K-9 Team Street Survival Seminar
The Sevierville Police Department hosts and annual K-9 Handlers Street Survival School in November or December. This seminar is designed to enhance K-9 team proficiency at basic and advanced levels with a focus on patrol and narcotics detection. The most advanced techniques and methods in law enforcement K-9 patrol and narcotic detection will be discussed and demonstrated. The seminar is approved annually by the Tennessee Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission at 40 hours of in-service training. The Sevierville Police Department is hosting this specialized
Canine Decoy and Behavior Modification Seminar, which will feature renowned K-9
instructor, Paolo Chiappetta, who is founder of K9 Chaperones and has over 20
years involvement in K9 training and experience. This seminar is designed to
learn the proper techniques for effective canine apprehension training. There
will be instruction available for all levels of canine ability from the
beginning to the most advanced. Take

Accommodations
Affordable lodging is available at Comfort Inn Mountain River Suites in
Sevierville. The motel is located on Highway 66 and dogs are welcome to stay in
the rooms. Rooms are available at a
rate of $59.99. If you have a tax exempt status you must bring the completed tax
exempt form with you for the motel. You
must mention the seminar when making reservations in order to obtain the special
room rate. Reservations can be made by calling (865) 428-5519 or toll

are not required to stay at the host hotel. However, several area motels will
not allow animals in rooms so if you plan to make reservations at another hotel,
please inquire if they allow animals in rooms.

Registration Fee
Registration fees for the seminar are
$225.00 per K-9 team, which includes the dog and handler. The fee includes
one Lunch, T-shirt, and door prizes.
Each observer or helper will also be charged a registration fee of
$225.00. All registration fees
MUST be received by
April 25, 2008.. Confirmation will be mailed upon receipt of registration.
