Jail Escapees/Attempted Armed Robbery

Early this morning the Sevierville Police Department received a report from Jefferson County that several jail inmates had escaped and stolen a vehicle that may have had a gun inside. Just before 5:00AM this morning, officers responded to a reported attempted armed robbery at EZ Stop, 851 Dolly Parton Parkway.

The two white male suspects in this incident are believed to be two of the jail escapees; neither has been captured. Officers continue to search and as a precaution, extra officers will be present at area schools this morning. These two suspects should be considered armed and dangerous.

The suspects are Adam Lethco and Matthew Porter. Booking photos are attached. A video of the incident at EZ Stop this morning is available on YouTube. Note that Porter has partially shaved his head and has a Mohawk cut and full beard.

UPDATE: Both suspects were apprehended in Georgia.

All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
