Fire Department Offers CPR/AED, First Aid and Stop the Bleeding Class 02-19

The Sevierville Fire Department is offering a CPR/AED, First Aid and Stop the Bleeding class on Saturday, February 16 at the Headquarters Station, 1162 Dolly Parton Parkway.

The 8-hour class is open to the public and will begin at 8AM and end at 5PM with an hour for lunch. The class fee is $22.00/person (checks payable to the City of Sevierville), which includes all class materials and a certificate. Classes have been filling-up quickly, so to ensure a spot please pay in advance by bringing a check to Fire Station 1, 122 Prince Street or by mail to 122 Prince Street, Sevierville, TN 37862.

In this classroom-based course, participants will learn to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR to victims of all ages, use an AED, administer basic first aid, and how they can control severe bleeding to save themselves and others.

The SFD offers this class to educate providers, caregivers, and the general public on how to respond to certain emergencies. Additionally, increasing public awareness of the importance of early intervention and ensuring greater public access to defibrillation will save many lives.
