Community Center Improvements

Posted 07-17-19.

Several improvement projects are scheduled for the City of Sevierville Community Center this year. The 37-year old recreational facility is currently undergoing a complete roof replacement that started in May of this year. The $850,000.00 project is approximately 35% complete and is expected to be finished in October.

Blalock Natatorium will undergo major upgrades to the dehumidification system. The current equipment is almost twenty-years old and the upgrades will improve the air quality and increase system energy efficiency. The $175,000.00 project will begin in September and be completed later in the fall. The natatorium will remain open as work proceeds.

The Community Center gymnasium is set to get a new heating and air conditioning system installed later this year. There is currently no air conditioning in the gymnasium and the gas heaters were installed when the facility was constructed 37-years ago. A start date for the $60,000.00 project has not been determined. The work will require the closure of the gymnasium for approximately three weeks while work is ongoing.
