This program offers you the opportunity to pick from one of the three species of trees below and have that tree placed within a park, Greenway or other public space that is available.
Also included is a 4” x 6” marble plaque with two lines available for engraving on the plaque at the base of the tree. In addition, the person’s name being honored will be placed on a plaque in the Community Center lobby and their name will be read aloud at Arbor Day celebration each year, which is normally the last Friday in March annually.
Cost is $250.00 per memorial and includes installation and guaranteed livability of the tree including replacement of the tree if necessary.
The following trees are approved for planting in area parks:
Deciduous trees (1.5"-2" caliper trunks, 8' tall)
Evergreen tree (min. height-5')
Maple: (Acer species)
Oak: (Quercus species)
Special Request for other types of species will be considered, however the City has the final approval.
The Department of Parks and Recreation will order the tree you have selected. We do not recommend planting trees during the extreme hot summer months.
Every effort will be made to place the tree in the park of your choice. However, if conditions warrant, the Department of Parks and Recreation reserves the right to place the tree in the park best suited for the tree.
