Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck by Vehicle

At approximately 7:30PM Tuesday, January 3, 2017, Sevierville Police Department officers responded to a 911 call regarding a pedestrian that had been struck by a vehicle.

According to SPD Officer Phillip West, 59-year old Alex Woloch of Sevierville, TN died after being struck by a vehicle on the Parkway near Wal Mart. Witnesses stated that Mr. Woloch was walking across the southbound lanes of the Parkway between the two Wal Mart entrance/exit roads, when he was struck by a 2000 GMC SUV driven by a 16-year old.

As is standard with all fatalities involving a motor vehicle, blood was drawn from the driver and victim. There was no presence at the scene of alcohol or drugs.

The investigation is ongoing. There have been no charges filed at this time.
