SPD Launching #9PM Routine to Reduce Burglaries

Posted 06-07-18.

The City of Sevierville Police Department is joining other law enforcement agencies across the country with a new program called #9PM Routine.

SPD will use their Facebook and Twitter social media accounts to remind residents and visitors of the importance of removing valuables from their vehicles and ensuring that their vehicle is locked every night. By making this a habit, we can reduce the chance of being burglarized. The program will also emphasize the importance of securing your home each night.

During the early summer, late fall and occasionally throughout the year, SPD will post reminders at 9PM on social media to:

• Remove valuables from your vehicle
• Take your keys
• Lock your vehicle
• Lock your home.

“Taking these simple steps each and every night could be the difference in being a burglary victim or not,” said SPD Chief Joe Manning.

Please join us and let’s make it a nightly routine! Beginning Monday, June 11, watch for the #9PM Routine posts on Facebook (SeviervillePoliceDepartment) and Twitter (@SeviervillePD).
