SPD Officers Receive Awards at Tennessee Highway Safety Office Event

Four Sevierville Police Department officers received awards for their outstanding efforts in 2018 at the Tennessee Highway Safety Office awards ceremony earlier this month.

 Officers Justin Armstrong and Morgan Watts received Beyond the Traffic Stop awards for narcotics arrests and seizures resulting from minor traffic violation stops.

Officer Nathan Ensing received an Impaired Driving Enforcement award for arresting 22 individuals for DUI charges with a 100% conviction rate.

Reserve Officer Phil Carney received a Child Passenger Partner award from Knoxville Safe Kids Coalition for his work to educate parents and willingness to check and install child passenger safety seats.

“We are very proud of these officers for going above and beyond,” said SPD Chief Joseph Manning. “Their work ethic exemplifies what all of our officers are striving for, to serve our community to the best of our abilities.”
