Public Works Office Specialist- Part-time $16.92 hourly
SALARY: $16.92 an hour

The essential function of the position within the organization is to provide specialized and clerical support. The position is responsible for performing complex clerical tasks for the Sevierville Public Works Department.
SCHEDULE: 24-29 hours per week established between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
SUMMARY:
- ·Answers multi-line telephone, provides routine information, directs callers to appropriate personnel, or takes and relays messages.
- Serves as receptionist greets visitors, and establishes the purpose of visit. Provides routine information or directs visitors to appropriate personnel.
- Coordinates scheduling, communication, information, and correspondence for Department.
- Enters, processes, and organizes work order systems for all Public Works Departments.
- Dispatches Public Works crews, equipment, etc. satisfying job tasks.
- Enters and processes purchase orders and other basic accounting functions.
- Performs routine clerical tasks such as data entry, spreadsheets, filing, faxing, or photocopying.
- Organizes, updates, maintains files, and emails, maintains employee files, updates website, maintains and distributes forms.
- Provides administrative efforts for each Department within Public Works as requested with flexibility and confidentiality.
- Maintains Solid Waste data, routing, accounts, application of services, dispatching, and utility system while coordinating with other personnel.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires a high school diploma or GED, and the equivalent of one year of college or specialized vocational training in computer technology, secretarial skills, business management, or a closely related field and two years of related experience.
