Sevierville Reopens Some Facilities to the Public

Posted 04-29-20.

Following Tennessee Governor Lee’s decision to not extend the stay at home executive order, the City of Sevierville is beginning to reopen some facilities to the public. Social distancing and personal hygiene are being emphasized; wearing a cloth mask is encouraged when in a public setting. Measures will be in place to enhance the safety of residents and staff at each facility.

“We will reopen facilities as soon as possible, with the safety and health of our residents and staff of the utmost importance,” said City Administrator Russell Treadway. “We ask everyone to continue practicing social distancing and good personal hygiene to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus.” Mr. Treadway also noted that some facilities, such as the Community Center, City parks and the Convention Center, would not reopen until later due to their unique social distancing challenges and to comply with Governor Lee’s Executive Order 30.

The Sevierville Golf Club will reopen on Friday, May 1. Safety measures include single person golf carts, limiting the number of patrons in the pro shop and Mulligan’s Restaurant, sanitizing golf carts after each use and disinfecting public areas periodically. Locker rooms will be closed.

Sevierville City Hall will reopen on Monday, May 4. Body temperature screening will be in place at the entrance and social distancing will be required. Sneeze guards have been placed between staff and customers and disinfecting of public areas will occur periodically.

The Police and Fire Department lobbies will reopen Monday, May 4. Social distancing measures including limits on the number of persons allowed in lobbies will be in place and disinfecting of public areas will occur periodically.
