Mayor to Recognize May 13 as “PETSafe Day in Sevierville” at Dog Park Grand Opening Ceremony

Posted May 5, 2017

Mayor Bryan C. Atchley of Sevierville will declare Saturday May 13 “PETSafe Day in Sevierville” at the grand opening of PETSafe Unleashed Dog Park. The ribbon cutting ceremony will begin at 11:00AM at Sevierville City Park, 1005 Park Road.

The agenda includes the Pledge of Allegiance led by local Boy Scout Troop 119, recognition of Randy Boyd, owner of Radio System Incorporated, parent company of PETSafe and owner of the Tennessee Smokies AA Baseball Team, and a formal ribbon cutting ceremony. PETSafe will provide free goodies to dogs who attend the event while supplies last. Also, the Sevier County Humane Society and Pets Without Parents organizations will be offering dogs for adoption.

The PETSafe Unleashed Dog Park will be open 8AM-9PM daily April-October and 8AM-8PM November-March. The facility offers separate large and small dog areas, dog agility equipment, water, shade, observation cameras, Wi-Fi connectivity, benches and a designated parking/handicapped parking area. All pets must be vaccinated as required by City and State laws.

Over the past year a group of City employees named Team Dog Park have been involved with all facets of the project from initial planning through construction. PETSafe contributed $100,000.00 dollars towards construction of the dog park through the Legacy Park Foundation.
