More information on the Arbor Day Celebration below.

The annual City Arbor Day Celebration is scheduled for Friday, May 19. This year's event will feature a ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening of Middle Creek Greenway and presentation of the City's Tree City USA Award. The event will begin at 11AM at Burchfiel Wayside, located at Veterans Blvd. and Middle Creek Road.

This will be the 33rd consecutive year that Sevierville has been recognized as a Tree City USA. The ceremony will feature speakers and presentations from the Sevierville Intermediate Beta Club, Tennessee Division of Forestry, and Sevierville Mayor Bryan Atchley. There will be a reading of the names of individuals with a tree memorial or honorary tree in the past year.

The newly completed Middle Creek Greenway connects the Municipal Complex walking trail to Veterans Blvd. Greenway. The greenway extends approximately two miles along the Middle Creek corridor. For additional information on the new greenway and to view a map of the entire City greenway/walking trail system, visit the Parks and Recreation page of this website.

The City of Sevierville Trees/Trails and Beautification Board continues to make efforts to improve urban tree care and benefits to the citizens of Sevierville. For additional information on the board and the Memorial Tree Program please visit the Parks and Recreation page of this website

The Tree City USA program is a national program administered by the Arbor Day Foundation that provides the framework for community forestry management for cities and towns across America. Communities achieve Tree City USA status by meeting four core standards of sound urban forestry management: maintaining a tree board or department, having a community tree ordinance, spending at least $2 per capita on urban forestry and celebrating Arbor Day. Participating communities have demonstrated a commitment to caring for and managing their public trees. Together the more than 3,400 Tree City USA communities serve as home to more than 135 million Americans. For additional information on the Tree City USA program or the Arbor Day Foundation, visit their website.
