Hours of Operation Changing at Dog Park and Playground Areas; Playground Equipment to be Added This Year

What: Hours of Operation Changing at Dog Park and Playground Areas; Playground Equipment to be Added This Year
Where: Sevierville City Park
When: Immediately

The City of Sevierville Department of Parks and Recreation announces that the operational hours for the Pet Safe Unleashed Dog Park and the Mt. Ton of Fun Playground at City Park are changing. Both facilities will now operate from dawn to dusk daily.

Originally, the hours of operation changed along with daylight savings time each year. However, Parks and Recreation staff feels that the areas do not have sufficient lighting for use after dark, prompting the change. Staff will open and close these areas as near to dawn and dusk as possible and asks for the cooperation of users. Signs noting the hours of operation at both areas have been removed and new signs will be placed in approximately one week.

Also of note, in late November the installation of swings, a slide and a dedicated large shade structure at the playground are planned. Reservations of the shade structure will be permitted, allowing larger groups to enjoy the cool shade while their children enjoy the playground.

Accessibility

The Parks and Recreation Department will make every effort to accommodate anyone desiring access to any facility including ADA Approved Listening Devices. For accessability assistance, please call 865-453-5441.
