City Begins ADA Field Data Collection

Posted 01-29-18

The City of Sevierville is working to make your public facilities, services, and programs accessible to all residents and users as outlined in the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA).

In an effort to determine necessary upgrades and prioritize improvements to fulfill this goal, the City has contracted with DLZ National, Inc. to provide an ADA transition plan for the City. Part of the work provided is field data collection on City right-of-ways. LDA Engineering, a subcontractor for DLZ, will be collecting images, measurements and other accessibility-related information in order to complete the study. Field workers will be wearing LDA Engineering identification and safety vests and will collect data on City sidewalks, ramps, crosswalks, parking areas and other right-of-way areas. Work will begin on January 30 and is expected to continue for several months.

Anyone with questions about field data collection activity may call LDA Engineering at 865-573-7672. If you have questions regarding the City’s transition plan Bryon Fortner, City ADA Coordinator, 865-429-4567.
