Police Search for Robbery Suspect
Sevierville Police Department (SPD) officers and detectives are searching for a man suspected of robbing Lee’s Food Mart, 3423 Winfield Dunn Parkway (Hwy. 66) early this morning, Friday, May 15, 2015.
Officers responded to a 911-call and alarm at Lee’s Food Mart at approximately 2:30AM this morning. According to SPD Sgt. Terry Bryan, a store employee reported that she had been approached by a man who grabbed her by the arm and demanded money from the cash register and safe. The suspect, subsequently identified as 28-year old Matthew D. Cook of Kodak, removed an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register and left the store on foot. A review of security video led to his identification; Mr. Cook is reportedly a former employee of the food mart. (See attached suspect photo.)
A robbery warrant has been issued for Mr. Cook’s arrest.Anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of Mr. Cook is requested to contact SPD Detective Milliron at 865-868-1747.
