SPD Promotes “Slow Down Tennessee” To Reduce Speeding-Related Crashes

The Sevierville Police Department is partnering with the Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSO) to promote “Slow Down Tennessee.” From April 14-28, SPD will increase education, awareness, and enforcement efforts to help reduce speeding-related crashes, injuries, and fatalities statewide.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Joy Street Repaving Planned on March 27

A traffic advisory is being issued for Joy Street in downtown Sevierville for Monday, March 27, 2023. Crews will be repaving the street beginning at 6:30 a.m. Weather and other conditions permitting, the work will be completed by approximately 3:00 p.m. on the same day, March 27. On-street parking on Joy Street will be prohibited on Monday, March 27, until repaving is complete. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers, however motorists should expect short term delays and consider an alternate route.

Sevierville Police Department Receives Reaccreditation

The City of Sevierville Police Department (SPD) was recently reaccredited by the Tennessee Law Enforcement Accreditation program (TLEA). The TLEA program is administered by the Tennessee Association of Chiefs of Police (TACP). SPD was initially accredited by TLEA in 2010, and is one of only a handful of Tennessee law enforcement departments to receive their fifth accreditation award.
