Sevierville City Park upcoming closures announced

What:  Sevierville City Park upcoming closures announced

Where:  1005 Park Road

When:  Beginning Monday, August 25, 2025

The Sevierville Parks and Recreation Department announces the closing of multiple areas of City Park, located at 1005 Park Road, for the upcoming City Park Improvement Project. The closures begin on Monday, August 25, 2025, and will continue through the end of the estimated 15-month project. Construction fencing and signage will be put into place on August 25.

Any changes to the project schedule or areas that are open or closed, will be posted the Sevierville Parks and Recreation and City of Sevierville Facebook pages.

Please refer to the attached temporary closure map in regard to the following lists.

The following areas of the park will be CLOSED during the project:

  • West parking area (river side with cul-de-sac);
  • All five baseball/softball fields;
  • Greenway beginning at the covered bridge, coming into City Park from the Smoky Mountain Children’s Home;
  • Picnic shelter area, including shelters 1 & 2;
  • The Charles D. Blalock Blueway Landing;
  • Concession and restroom building located near fields 1 & 2;
  • Restrooms located outside of the pool house building.

Areas of the park that will remain OPEN, with minimal closures during the project:

  • East parking area (tennis court side), pool parking area and new overflow parking area (with access from Park Road only);
  • Tennis and pickleball courts (the court lights will be off until a date to be determined in February 2026);
  • Dog park;
  • Playground and basketball court;
  • Family Aquatic Center (outdoor pool) during regular pool season;
  • Picnic shelter #3.

Additionally, with the closure of both regular restroom areas, the Family Aquatic Center restrooms, located inside the pool area, will be open at dawn until dusk each day. The entrance to these restrooms is located near the playground entrance.
