Historic Zoning Commission

The role of the Historic Zoning Commission (HZC) is to review plans for projects located within the Downtown Commercial Historic Overlay (DHO). Meetings will be held on the fourth Thursday of the month, as needed. The Downtown Commercial Historic Overlay (DHO) map can be used to verify locations that require approval from the HZC.   DHO Map.

The City's Zoning Ordinance includes information on the requirements of the DHO and the powers and responsibilities of the HZC. Specific pages addressing the district and commission can be viewed here. The DHO Design Guidelines include additional details. Applications for Certificates of Appropriateness from the HZC are accepted online at www.mygovernmentonline.org and selecting "Planning & Zoning."
