Roofing Project at Community Center is Underway-Change in User Access

Posted 04-23-19.

The Sevierville Community Center will soon have a new roof-the first since the facility was constructed in 1982. It is believed to be one of the first metal roofs used in Sevierville at the time.

The new roof overlay system will be installed over the old roof and will consist of more modern, advanced metals. Metal Roof Consultants from Cary, North Carolina is the chosen contractor. The $810,000.00 project is expected to be completed by October 15, 2019.

To minimize any potential accidents and increase public safety, the Parks and Recreation Department has dedicated the entire paved area in the back of the Community Center to the contractor during this project. Facility users will not be able to park in the rear paved area. Additionally, a new gate is being installed which will remain after construction and utilized to restrict vehicular traffic in the rear area for safety.
