Sevierville Police Department hosts Peace Officers Memorial Day Service May 15
Posted 05-12-25.
On Thursday, May 15, the Sevierville Police Department invites everyone to attend the annual Peace Officers Memorial Day service at 11:00 a.m. The service will take place at the front of the police department, 300 Gary Wade Boulevard. In the event of poor weather, the event will be moved inside the police department.
The service will be brief, but affords us an opportunity to recognize and pay tribute to the brave men and women who have lost their lives in the line of duty. In Tennessee during the past 12 months (May 1, 2024-May 1, 2025), two officers and one K9 have lost their lives in the line of duty.
President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation designating May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day, and the week in which the date falls as National Police Week.
“We invite you to take a few minutes of your day to join us to remember those who have fallen, and to pray for the safety of those who serve and protect us every day,” said SPD Chaplain Richard W. Everett.
