It appears that winter has finally arrived here in East Tennessee, and the holiday season is right around the corner. The Sevierville Fire Department’s Ember would like to share some winter safety tips to help you and your family (including your pets!) stay safe this year. Many of us are getting space heaters and decorations out of storage, lighting candles, and warming our cars before work. You can have a cozy, festive holiday this year and protect your loved ones by following these simple safety tips.

On Friday, December 13, officers from the Sevierville Police Department and community members will come together in an informal setting to discuss community issues, build relationships, and drink coffee. The City of Sevierville Department of Parks and Recreation is now accepting registration and entry fees for the 2025 Co-Ed Volleyball League. The $150.00 team entry fee is due by January 16, 2025. Registration packets are available at the Community Center front desk or online at www.seviervilleparksandrec.com on the athletics page. Registration can also be completed online by visiting https://sevierville.recdesk.com/Community/Home and selecting Programs.

After years of planning, fundraising, grant writing and construction, three new blueway landings in Sevierville are now open to the public. The blueway project was first presented as part of the Parks and Recreation Master Plan approved by the Sevierville Mayor and Board of Alderman in October 2018.

The Sevierville Parks and Recreation Department has scheduled a hike on Old Sugarlands Trail. This guided hike is FREE and limited to ten participants. Participants must be at least 18-years old and provide their own transportation to a meeting location. Meeting time and location to be provided after registration.

Sidewalk repairs will begin at the Sevierville Community Center on Monday, December 2. While repairs are ongoing, one of the two ramps leading to the center from the parking lot will be closed. One ramp will always remain open.
