Sevierville Police Department Schedules FREE Crash Avoidance Training for Young Drivers

In an effort to improve the driving abilities and overall safety of younger drivers, the Sevierville Police Department (SPD) has scheduled a FREE 8-hour Crash Avoidance Training (CAT) class on Saturday, October 15 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

The training is for drivers aged 16-20 years old who have a valid driver’s license (participants are required to provide their own vehicle and have current insurance). The seminar is taught by SPD Officers utilizing a nationally proven program.

Temporary Water Service Interruption on Parker Boulevard Planned

The City of Sevierville Water and Sewer Department announces that a temporary interruption of water service is scheduled to occur commencing at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, for all water customers on Parker Boulevard. The interruption in service is necessary to tie-in a new water line.

Sevierville Completes New Greenway Wayfinding Program

The City of Sevierville Department of Parks and Recreation has completed installation of new wayfinding signs on the City’s extensive greenway system. The new wayfinding signs have been placed throughout the twelve miles of greenway and are designed to match other signs in the new City-wide wayfinding program.

Parks and Recreation Hike: Rich Mountain Loop

The Sevierville Parks and Recreation Department has scheduled a hike of Rich Mountain Loop in Cades Cove Tuesday, September 20. This guided hike is FREE and limited to ten participants. Detectives Arrest Juvenile on Threat of Violence Charge

Sevierville Police Department detectives arrested and charged a juvenile this afternoon after investigating a reported threat on social media. The juvenile has been charged with making a threat of violence pertaining to a school, a class-A misdemeanor.

In observance of the Labor Day holiday, the regular meeting of the Sevierville Board of Mayor and Aldermen scheduled for Monday, September 5 has been cancelled. The next regular BMA meeting will be held on Monday, September 19 at 6:00 p.m. at the Sevierville Civic Center.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Temporary Closure of Section of Court Avenue

Court Avenue, between Bruce Street and Commerce Street, will be closed to all traffic on Thursday, September 1 from 6:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. The purpose of the closure is to facilitate a swearing-in ceremony for Sevier County officials.

BMA Special Called Meeting Scheduled

The City of Sevierville Board of Mayor and Aldermen has scheduled a special called meeting on Monday, August 22, 2022. The meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the Sevierville Civic Center, 130 Gary Wade Boulevard, Sevierville, TN.
The purpose of this meeting will be to consider acceptance of bids and award of contract for Allensville Road pump station and force main upgrades, consider acceptance of bids and award of contract for McCroskey Island Wastewater Treatment Plant expansion, consider approval of contract for construction management services for wastewater treatment expansion project, and other items as needed.
